The Podcast About Everything BONUS:
Stella Elizabeth Williamson’s obituary appeared in the Altoona Mirror newspaper on Aug. 28, 1980. It was standard, listing only the names of her parents — Alfred and Dessie Williamson — and that she was a member of Gallitzin United Methodist Church’s Women’s Society. It was little to be remembered by. But it was Williamson’s secrets that would drive discussion and media coverage in the coming months and years. They were secrets her neighbors and acquaintances would find hard to believe. They were the stuff of horror movies, and they inspired Williamson’s posthumous nickname — the Gallitzin Spinster. – Story credit: Sean Sauro, August 9, 2018
