My name is Michael Allison and I have been involved in various aspects of art, and art advocacy for over fifty years. A graduate of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I have occupied a number of roles in this community. I have created in both the areas of Fine and Commercial art which I continue to create.
I have worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. I have used my interest in history to do interior architectural restoration in a historic home. For ten years I was curator of the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art where I curated well over 50 exhibitions. I have served on a variety of boards of nonprofits and was on an advisory panel for The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. I currently work in the Public Art sector, creating my own murals and sculpture, and work as Public Art Consultant for the Bottle Works in Johnstown Pennsylvania. I am an amateur folklorist, a public speaker on that subject, and have my own podcast: “The Podcast about Everything”.
I currently live in Central Pennsylvania with my lovely wife Barbara, and my wonderful family of a stepdaughter, grandson and his spouse and our great grandson Ryker.
